About Love Photography:

If you are new to our site, welcome! Please take a look around and get to know us and our work. If you aren't new, you may remember when I was Lora Roney Photography. Well, I got married in March of 2010 to this amazing man, Lewis and that now makes me Lora Vail. When talking about a new name for the studio I decided I wanted our business to represent both of us, not just me. We decided on the name Love Photography for a few reasons. Both of our initials are LV, which is a little like the word Love. Also, we love to take photographs and we love to meet new people, capture their memories and create art for them. I love expecting moms with their belly bumps, newborns that are just so tiny, kids that crack us up and seeing people IN love! The name just seemed to fit. Lewis and I work together on most of our shoots. We love that we can share this amazing and fun job and enjoy working together. Read on to learn more about each of us.

Meet Lora:

As far as my role in Love Photography goes, I am the principle photographer around here and handle most of our image processing. You will usually meet me first as I manage the office-y type details and work with our clients on a day-to-day basis. I have gone to school for marketing & communications and have learned the art of photography from some very talented mentors. I shoot Nikon. You'll probably here me say, "Ok, just one more photo"....and then I'll end up taking 50 more. :)

Here's what I am the rest of the time. I love the color pink, coffee in the morning, and my two cuddly kittens, Leo & Leona. You know I never thought I'd be a "cat person" but here we are. I am crazy passionate about pregnancy and birth and can't wait to have babies.......eventually. There's a lot of traveling I want to do first, like to Paris, Italy and many more trips to my favorite city ever, Manhattan. I love to talk and am usually the last one to leave a party. I don't want to miss out on any of the fun. I am such the planner and am uber organized to a fault, yet I am rarely on time - I'm working on this. I met this totally amazing guy a while back and have been lucky enough to call him mine since 2006. Lewis and I got married in March of 2010 and I fall in love with him more each day we're together.

Meet Lewis:

My interest in photography started with the desire to play with Lora's expensive electronic equipment. Much to my surprise, the more I played the more I fell in love with light and shadows rather than sensors and memory cards. I love the way you can change the entire mood of an image just by changing how it's lit.

As for my role in Love Photography, while shooting I usually assist with lighting and setup if necessary and look for fresh angles during the session. Back at the office I maintain our blog and website, as well as manage all of the other more technical and analytical sides of running our studio. By day I'm a web application engineer so that%u2019s really were I feel most comfortable.
